31/365 Saturday

The 5th Saturday of the month and we had a car show at Picnics Diner on Bird Road. If you've grown up in Miami, the diner is where the Taco Viva used to be. We went in the 1967 Buick GS 400. It was very very cold. To warm up I had lentil soup and grilled cheese at the Diner. Hubby had the meatloaf special.

This is the front of my house. You can see just how dry the grass is. We haven't had any substantial amounts of rain in a few weeks. We don't usually water the lawn, but if it doesn't rain for much longer, I'll have to break weak and water some.

Another cold night. Temperatures were in the upper 70s in the afternoon, and down well into the 50s by midnight. This is Marjorie curled up on my blanket on the couch.

Delivery of some stamp sets from CTMH. Some are calendar related to use in my 365 album, and others complete the monthly sets.

The price of gas today. We fill up twice a week. This is today's price - higher than it has been recently, but not as high as it was a couple of months ago.

We put a lot of miles on the car because we commute about 100 miles a day round trip. This is where the mileage is today - I'll probably take another pick in December to record just how many miles we've actually driven.

Ground beef was on sale at the grocery store, so I decided to make some chili. This is my famous black bean chili, made with black beans, tomatoes, chilis and in this case ground beef.

A weekly event. Stopping by the teller machine to get money for the week. With my check hitting the bank by direct deposit the teller machine is a weekly stop.

When the cats are cold they get cuddlier. This is Monty curled up in a blanket on the couch. It's cute how he has is face tucked under his tail.

My very first layout of the year. This one was done for an album the girls are giving Linda at Winter Retreat. We were supposed to do a page with how we met Linda and if you had one a picture with her. This pic is from the Hilltop Cruise to Mexico.

A very cold night (upper 30's/low 40s) calls for great hot chocolate. These are for the Keurig machine. A quick fix to warm me up.

Our new president. Inauguration Day.
I can't remember the last time I actually watched the Inauguration events, but I did this year.

Some toys I received in the mail today. JustRight stamps were having a sale and letter kits were $5 and the word sets were $1. I bought all the ones I didn't have. I love the stamps because they are self inking.

Breakfast with Kevin (alright, everyone else was there too). This is Jay's new nephew. We're having breakfast and it was pass the baby time so that everyone had a chance to eat. As far as babies go, he's one of those happy babies.

Haircut day for me. I swear if I win the lottery I will be hiring a shampoo girl complete with the shampoo sink. The warm water and someone massaging your scalp is so relaxing.

Another Tower Shops Friday night cruise - but this night we took "my" car which is a 1976 Pontiac Astre. It is the Pontiac version of a Vega. The window stuff tells the story of the car. This car is all original and that's the original paint job. I even found a bumper sticker on ebay with Vote for Jimmy Carter.

Some of you dropping by from the north might not think that the upper 50s is cold. But here in south Florida it is, and that makes it time to break out the slippers.

Made baked pears tonight from a recipe in a Rachel Ray magazine. They turned out delicious.

My new purse, which was a gift from mom at Christmas. All loaded up and ready to go.

Pears, Pears, Pears. Received my order from Harry and David and they substituted pears for the fruit of the month (it was supposed to be apples), plus received a tower of treats with more pears from an order I placed. Good thing I like pears.

Tonights car show was at Shorty's BBQ. This is the first time we've been to this location. This is the '68 GTO. For some reason the show seemed to break up early and by 9PM most of the cars had cleared out. We went to Shorty's to eat and then made it an early night (for us anyway) and headed for home.

Tonights "Ride" a 2002 Pontiac Firehawk Conv. It was a little chilly, but we still had to have the top down.

Project 365

Well CK didn't start it, since it's been around for at least several years. But they did put the idea into a scrapbooking kit form. At this point, I don't know if I'm getting a kit (I want one, but I didn't get through on the order line).

Aside from the whole Kit commotion at CK, I still want to do the project.

I've created this blog to track the pictures.

I'll probably update it once or twice a week since it's easier to upload from work. I'll be changing the post date to the correct day and approximate time the photo was taken.

For now ... let's begin the journey of 365 days.
